Today we are announcing that we are setting a deadline of 30 June 2017 to enter our building programme, with signed build contracts, if you would like our team to manage your repair or rebuild for you.
Over the past few months, an increasing number of people have been opting for cash settlements. In response to this, we can now confirm that 30 June 2017 will be the final date for customers to be able to enter our building programme with signed build contracts. Setting this date gives customers seeking a Southern Response-managed rebuild or repair sufficient time to plan for this.
From 1 July 2017, customers will still have a range of options in line with their AMI policy, which includes a cash settlement, self-managed construction or buying another home. However, if it is their preference, our claim settlement process will continue to support customers through the engineering, design and planning stages right through to building consent. This will ensure they have all the information they require for the reinstatement of their home.
We will also look to fully support customers who still wish to manage their own construction post-deadline as best we can through introductions to approved builders and providing supporting information.
For those that are currently in or who will be entering our construction programme before 30 June 2017, we will maintain an appropriately-sized project management setup, in conjunction with Arrow and our construction partners, to ensure on-time and quality completion of repairs and rebuilds.
